Workshop “Suggestions for Developing Training Materials for Child Protection Workers – Defining and Standardizing Terminology on Child Abuse in the Online Environment.”

On 30 March, Department of Child Affairs and ChildFund Vietnam held a workshop on “Suggestions for Developing Training Materials for Child Protection Workers – Defining and Standardizing Terminology on Child Abuse in the Online Environment.”

The workshop had the participation of Department of Cybersecurity and High-Tech Crime Prevention; Criminal Police Department; Department of Information Security, Authority of Broadcasting and Electronic Information; Department of International Cooperation, Vietnam Association for Protection of Child Rights, and Organisations that operate in the area of safeguarding children in the digital sphere, including UNICEF, World Vision, Plan International, and MSD.

At the workshop, Ms. Nguyen Thi Nga, the Deputy Director of the Department of Child Affairs, stressed the significance of establishing a consistent terminology on digital child protection, which not only enhances the capacity of child protection officers and legal frameworks but also serves as evidence to tackle online abuse and assist children who fall prey to it.

ChildFund Vietnam also expressed our dedication to create a shared terminology on online child abuse and providing relevant training material for child protection workers.
