Child Protection & Child Participation

Program Goal: To help build communities where children and young people are protected and can participate, voice their opinions and take action on issues that matter to them.

Our priorities in Child Protection & Child Participation include:

  • Supporting & improving National and Provincial level child protection reporting and referral systems through capacity building and skills development including frontline and social services in partnership with government and social organisations and in piloting technology that supports the efficiency of national, provincial and community level child protection reporting and case management.
  • Strengthening community-based child protection mechanisms through capacity building in knowledge, skills, and process development for commune child protection duty bearers, teachers, parents, caregivers and children and young people.
  • Flagship program for online safety provides initiatives that prevent online exploitation and abuse of children and young people as they navigate the online world. Delivered through the Swipe Safe curriculum with children, young people, parents, and teachers, this approach is impact-driven and evidenced-based. By contributing evidence-based related to child safeguarding online and links closely to our National Child Helpline and Technology for CP system projects, the project possesses a strong potential to be replicated nationwide in Vietnam and to attract donor interest.
  • Contributing to development of child participation models through initiatives and projects led by children that can enable their voice and participation in decision-making and solve issues relating to their rights in the community and society.
