The Industrial Bank of Korea is dispatching a volunteer group consisting of employees to Vietnam for global social contribution activities.

Hoa Binh, 22-24 Oct 2019. Staff from Industrial Bank of Korea (IBK) will participate in a voluntary work trip at Phu Cuong primary and secondary school in Tan Lac, Hoa Binh. Ms Vo Song Nguyet, vice director of State bank in Hoa Binh attended the event with 84 IBK staff.

A school building and its surrounding fences will be painted vividly with pictures to provide the students a brighter place to study in. The bank has also agreed to financially support Phu Cuong VND 2.5 billion  to build another eight-classroom building to facilitate all the children in the community.

During the three day trip, children and IBK staff will also have exchange activities thanks to which each will be enhanced with rich experience towards Vietnamese and Korean culture.

“Thanks to this event, our students will for the first time be able to enjoy some Korean authentic understanding about the cultural activities, that they have only seen on TV so far. We are thankful that through this meaningful trip, our school can now offer better learning environment for children.” Ms Duong Thi Hien, the vice principle of the school said.

On this event children from 4th and 5th grade in Phu Cuong also enjoy some financial literacy lessons delivered by IBK bankers. The students, for the first time, have been introduced guided, money-related, decision-making activities through games and interactive questions and answer sessions.

Since 2011, IBK has sent over 1,000 employees to overseas such as Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, and Indonesia for a total of 15 times to do volunteer work such as building new schools and facilities for drinking water.
