Project “Empowering digital learning for all” officially launched in Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh province

The project “Empowering digital learning for all” aims to support communities in creating a convenient, safe, and equitable digital learning environment for vulnerable children, from which they can develop necessary capacities for the 21st century. Funded by ChildFund Korea through ChildFund Vietnam, the project will be implemented in the period 2023-2026.

At the project implementation meeting held on 1 March, information about the project as well as coordination methods were discussed between the Non-Governmental Project Management Board of Tan Lac district and ChildFund Vietnam and project partners, including representatives of the Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh and Bac Kan provinces, the Department of Education and Training of Tan Lac, Thach An, and Ngan Son districts, representatives from VNPT Hoa Binh, and from schools in the project area.

Speaking at the event, Mr. Bui Ngoc Lam, representative of the Department of Education and Training of Hoa Binh province emphasised the importance of digital transformation in education: “Digital transformation means changing the form and method of working. Instead of taking notes manually, we use digital technology to store and reuse information.” Through this project, schools will be supported to access and promote effective digital transformation. Deputy Director of VNPT Hoa Binh province, Mr. Nguyen Huy Loi said: “With many years of experience providing digital transformation applications for education, VNPT is ready to accompany the Management Board and the project to promote effective digital transformation in schools”.

According to Mr. Vu Hong Quan, Principal of Phu Vinh Primary and Secondary School, the project has also engaged the participation of the entire school: “All employees and teachers are equipped with knowledge about digital transformation, child protection, and online safety”.

Also at the event, representatives of ChildFund Vietnam discussed strengthening the role of partners in project management and implementation. After the discussion, the Tan Lac District Non-Governmental Program Management Board committed to proactively manage and implement activities, including recruiting consultants with guidance and support from ChildFund.

With the participation and commitment of relevant parties, the project “Empowering digital learning for all” is expected to be implemented effectively and successfully, supporting local communities to implement digital transformation in education, creating favourable conditions for ethnic minority children to access advanced and modern education.
