OPENING THE 33^TH CHILDFUND SUPPORT SCHOOL IN HOA BINH

Hoa Binh, 20^th September 2019. ChildFund is pleased to announce the opening of the 33^th school that the organisation and its donor support building in the region. The new building of the primary school in Phu Vinh now can host over 460 student and provide them with a stimulating learning environment.

The new school completed the construction in early 2019 with the financial support from Bumhan Cable and System company limited and Gyeongnam regional office supporte’s group of ChildFund Korea and individual donors of ChildFund Korea through ChildFund Vietnam. With an equipped playground and a kitchen, children in Phu Vinh now have safe play space and warm and nutritious meals provided during their day time.

The chairman of Gyeongnam regional office support’s group of ChildFund Korea Mr. Jung Youngsik said “The education influences a lot for children’s future and the development of the country. So it is important to invest for education. Through this project I hope the students of Phu Vinh Primary school are able to learn more, experience more and dream for their future.”

On this occasion, 465 sets of school stationery and 15 personal computer sets are given to the students. Thanks to these, children will have their first lessons with information technology, which opens new opportunities for them when they can access and use the internet for their reference.

Besides supporting the facility improvement, in accordance with ChildFund’s vision for children to develop their full potential, the organisation also will support the cognitive, social, emotional and physical growth of children. This will include knowledge and skills in language, the STEM (Science, Technology, and Mathematics) subjects, art and physical education.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Lien, ChildFund Vietnam Country Director said: “I am so glad and proud to see the new building of Phu Vinh school and to know that from now on more ethnic minority children can enjoy a safe and stimulating learning environment. It’s very touching know that children are learning for future development. Besides improving the basic facilities and adequate infrastructure at the school, we also supported teachers with training so that they can apply the participatory training and experiential learning methods. In longer term, ChildFund commits to promote child rights in school by improving quality of education for ethnic minority in seven communes in Tan Lac district including Phu Vinh commune.”

The primary school in Phu Vinh commune is open to all the children living in the area, aging from 6 to 11 years old.
