In late August, various departments and the Senior Management Team (SMT) held exciting meetings to review the results of the past fiscal year. This was an opportunity for all parties to draw lessons and set priorities and KPIs for the new fiscal year.
The meetings focused on outlining specific action plans to implement these priorities. Several topics were actively discussed by the participants, including the integration of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) into new projects, organisational restructuring, enhancing the quality of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL), as well as paying attention to employee mental health, among others.
On this occasion, we would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Ms Nguyen Thi Bich Lien – Country Director, for her warm welcome to the SMT and programme specialists, and for creating an inspiring meeting space for everyone.

After ChildFund Vietnam officially announced the update of the “12 commitments of Childfund Vietnam staff and partners”, ChildFund staff at Hoa Binh, Bac Kan, and Cao Bang offices immediately collaborated with local partners to ensure this important information was communicated thoroughly and accurately.
During meetings with district, commune, and village partners, ChildFund staff provided detailed explanations of each commitment and guided the process for reporting violations. Furthermore, with ChildFund’s support, the commitments were also posted at various locations, including district offices, health stations, schools, community centres, and other public places, ensuring that the information would reach the entire community.
Let’s take a look at the vivid images of the “12 commitments” implementation process in Hoa Binh, collected and shared by Tran Van Tu – Child Protection Project Officer, and Dinh Thi Thu Ha – Education Project Officer!
Each region has its very own distinctive culinary culture. When visiting Cao Bang, one should not miss out on the local specialities unique to the area.
One of the most beloved breakfast dishes in Cao Bang is roasted duck “pho” or “pho vit quay”. Unlike the regular duck “pho”, the duck here is prepared with great enthusiasm. The roasted duck has a dark brown, crispy skin that is fragrant and juicy without being tough or dry, with the spices perfectly infused into every bit of meat. All of which combined with a broth made from simmered bones and a touch of duck roasting juices, creates a unique taste that leaves a lasting impression on anyone who tries it.
Behind this outstanding distinctive flavour is a meticulous preparation and cooking process. The duck is carefully selected, cleaned, and marinated with spices such as “mac khen” leaves, ginger, and minced garlic before being roasted with honey. However, the quality of the “pho” depends greatly on the broth. The broth should only be made from pork bones, with marrow bones included. This ensures that the broth is naturally sweet and, when combined with the rich duck roasting juices, creates a memorable and robust flavour.
Following the success of the recent training sessions on artificial intelligence (AI), ChildFunders promptly begin to attractively apply AI in their work, which enhances their work efficiency and quality. With the aim to encourage creativity and promote the sharing of practical experiences, the Human Resources and Support Services Department is officially launching a contest with an engaging theme: “Unleashing The Potential of AI with ChildFund.”
This contest provides an opportunity for ChildFunders to share their intriguing experiences on how AI has improved their work – such as how AI helps them reduce their workload and simplify complex processes. Entries can be submitted as written articles or videos. The submission period lasts from September to the end of November 2024. The most impressive submission will be featured in upcoming internal newsletters, and the author will receive a unique gift from the editorial board.
Let’s join together and explore the endless possibilities that AI can bring!
