Strategic Goals

ChildFund in Vietnam, in the next five years, is committed to working in a way that will demonstrate our focus and deliver results on children’s needs. We will continue our commitment to collaborate with different stakeholders in the society, from our national to local government partners, civil society organisations and UN agencies in Vietnam.

We will to create impacts towards ensuring bright future opportunities for children. We will reassert our edication to good governance and partnerships in both our organizational and program operations, to ensure sustainable

support and drive towards positive change. The commitments have been developed to enable us to best achieve our mission and are linked to ChildFund Australia’s overarching aim “ChildFund Australia will enable children and youth to be safe, confident and resilient, able to play active, constructive roles in an increasingly turbulent world” 12, in a world where all children with whom we work to be able to say:

Five commitments of ChildFund in Vietnam are:

  1. Amplify the voice of children and youth in Vietnam
  2. Refocus child protection and advocate for better public support
  3. Build the resiliency of children and youth
  4. Good governance
  5. Increase our organisational effectiveness

COMMITMENT 1. AMPLIFY THE VOICE OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN VIETNAM

  • Ensure that children access quality education in a safe and stimulating environment
  • Foster better participation and voice of children and young people in ChildFund’s activities and projects
  • Improve the effectiveness of children and young people fora and other communications channels

COMMITMENT 2. REFOCUS CHILD PROTECTION ISSUES AND ADVOCATE FOR BETTER PUBLIC SUPPORT

  • Support effective functioning and operative formal and informal systems of Child Protection at all levels of the community
  • Do research and break silence on child protection issues
  • Enhance staff and organisational capacity and expertise on Child Protection
  • Promote prevention to stop an issue becoming a problem
  • Strengthen key national and international partnerships and collaborations for more influential advocacy on child protection

COMMITMENT 3. BUILD THE RESILICENCY OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH

  • Nurture and foster children’s ability to adapt and respond to changing environment
  • Provide children and youth with opportunities to learn and practice social and working skills
  • Create opportunities for children and youth to participate in meaningful activities
  • Promote the well-being of children and youth

COMMITMENT 4. GOOD GOVERNANCE

  • Support community in accessing information on laws, policy, government services and welfare related to their rights and wellbeing
  • Reinforce accountability and transparency in all ChildFund community development activities
  • Increase the accountability and transparency in spending local government budget including poverty reduction program and other social services
  • Promote community management through the design and implementation of ChildFund’s projects

COMMITMENT 5. INCREASE ORGANISATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS

  • Foster a trustful and active working culture and environment
  • Improve management accountability, capability and leadership
  • Simplify and strengthen our policies, procedures and systems
  • Promote learning spirit and investing in people
