It was a nice July day after a heavy rain in Du Sang commune, one of the poorest areas at Kim Boi district, Hoa Binh province. After 15 minutes of walking from the main road, opening in front of our eyes is the new concreted lane leading to the Go Thau preschool. All children, teachers, parents and local authorities were gathering there to celebrate the opening ceremony of the school.
Prossy, 13, has lived with her aunt since losing both parents to AIDS-related illnesses. Before joining ChildFund Australia's APAC program, Prossy was worried she wouldn't be educated. Now, her school fees are being covered and she is thriving.
